Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join our growing software delivery team. Our team brings together the capabilities of several businesses into one talented, collaborative unit, combining Agile practices with a secure Software Delivery Lifecycle to build and maintain the digital products that underpin our occupational health services.

You will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining our occupational health portals and supporting applications, working alongside a positive, friendly team that takes pride in delivering high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new system functionality that enhances our occupational health portals and supporting applications
  • Investigate defects and implement effective, well-considered fixes
  • Contribute to the estimation of planned work, helping the team plan and deliver with confidence
  • Assist in the resolution of incidents and make recommendations to prevent repeat occurrences
  • Develop solutions in line with IT policies, procedures, and our secure Software Delivery Lifecycle
  • Conduct peer reviews of colleagues' work and clearly articulate and justify your own design and implementation decisions in peer and group review settings
  • Deploy application changes safely and in line with team processes

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with a solid track record of delivering software in a commercial environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with .NET Core and .NET Framework, and confidence working across both
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, with experience building or maintaining web-facing functionality
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms
  • Comfortable working across multiple areas of the stack and adaptable to evolving technical requirements
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including version control, testing, and secure coding practices
  • Experience contributing to estimation, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to both give and receive constructive feedback in peer reviews
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
